Our Roots: The Evolution of TLF

In 2004, TLF Apparel emerged from the success of BSN; a world leader in cutting edge physique and performance products. TLF’s heritage is in bodybuilding and we are proud of that heritage. Because of it, our customers have a relentless commitment to bettering their physique and performance. They train with unbridled heart, soul, and intensity; they “Train Like a Freak.” The TLF brand is a badge of honor worn by those who share the same “Train Like A Freak®” ideology and encompass it as a part of their identity.

Our Transition: The Present of TLF

As BSN sold in early 2011, one of its founders and original owners took TLF under his wings and made it his own. We now stand on our own two feet; ready to pursue the road we’ve embarked on and to dominate any challenge we face. TLF’s transitional period was a true testament of our amazing and loyal fans…Thank you all for supporting us each step of the way! With that, please remember:

The TLF Gym is anywhere

Everyone belongs to a gym. It’s a place where the human body is pushed to the point of adaptation. It’s where the word “possibility” gets smacked up against the wall, turned inside out and re-defined. The reward is that the next time you come back to the gym you are a little more indestructible.

Your gym needn’t have barbells or dumbbells, or offer spinning classes or Pilates. A gym can be a field, a grassy knoll, an open road, a back alley, an empty room or any other place where your physical boundaries can be regularly pushed and occasionally exceeded. That’s what training is for. And when you train with unbridled heart, soul and intensity, you deserve to express this part of your identity by wearing an exclusive badge. Our customers call it “TLF”.

To be a Freak

The term “Freak” used to carry a negative connotation. Here, it is a compliment. A “Freak” is someone who persists in traveling down their own path, even when the prevailing culture may be traveling in the opposite direction. Hardcore bodybuilders and many athletes aren’t known for following the herd; quite the contrary. And that suits them just fine. The unusual or eccentric struggles they face in the course of their relentless commitment to physical betterment gives them a sense of indestructibility that you just can’t get by taking the conventional path or the path of least resistance.

TLF is continuously growing and striving to provide our customers with the highest possible level of fit, wear ability, and functionality; while simultaneously providing an exclusive sense of style. TLF’s Innovation and Design Team is developing an activewear line for men and women that is inspired by sports biomechanics and kinesiology; the study of force, muscle movement, and performance in relation to sports or physical activity.
